HUMAN CONCERNS COMMITTEE
 
 
Through our Human Concerns Committee, parishioners share their faith and touch many lives by being active in numerous outreach ministries.
 
Voices for Justice
 
“Action Alerts,” distributed at the entrances, invite parishioners to write letters to appropriate legislative representatives on critical issues relating to Catholic faith, morals and family life.
 
Casa Maria -  Catholic Worker Homes -  and Guest House
 
These organizations run homeless shelters in the inner city and provide a variety of training and counseling sessions. A group of parishioners spends the third Wednesday each month at Guest House helping staff and residents. If interested, please contact the Parish Office at 262/251-0220. 
 
Interfaith Caregiving Network
 
 
A faith-centered volunteer organization working to maintain the dignity and enhance the quality of life for people in Waukesha County who are in need of services because of age or disability.    If you needs assistance or would like to be a volunteer, call Sr. Jane Mary at 2511-0220 x158. 
 
HOPE Network
 
A Menomonee Falls based non-profit organization, providing assistance to single mothers and their children. St. Mary’s hosts “Christmas in July” and “The Giving Tree” in December. For more information, please contact Laurie Becker at 251-2662. 
 
Central City Catholic Parishes – All Saints and St. Martin de Porres
 
Quarterly financial contributions are sent to help these financially struggling parishes to remain viable, providing a Catholic presence in the inner city. 
 
Repairers of the Breach
 
This non-profit organization is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the homeless and near-homeless people. 
 
Alcoholics Anonymous
 
A self-help organization utilizing a 12-step program and group therapy. Members meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. Program information available through the local AA chapter.
 
AGAPE Meal Program
 
This program provides meals to homeless / poor persons. St. Mary’s helps on the first Wednesday of the month, six times a year. 
 
Menomonee Falls Food Pantry
 
Individuals experiencing financial difficulty are eligible to visit the pantry twice a month to receive food and grocery items. St. Mary’s collects items every third weekend of the month. For more information, or for those most in need, please contact Mrs. Marian Etzel at 251-0345.
 
The Giving Tree
 
St. Mary’s annual gift-giving program, which provides financial donations and / or useful gifts to individuals and organizations at Christmas time. For more information, please contact Laurie Becker at 251-2662.
 
Senior Social Group
 
Social gathering for seniors (55+) which include lunch, bingo, card playing and a short program. Gatherings held in Conference Rooms A & B of the school building on the 2nd Thursday of the month, September through May. Contact Barb Martin (251-0196). 
 
Ministry to the Bereaved
 
Group and individuals needs addressed. Contact Deacon Tom Wuchterl at 251-0220 X157. 
 
 
SHARE
 
St. Mary’s participates in the SHARE Program where a large bag of groceries can be purchased for $18.00 in exchange for two hours of volunteer work in the SHARE warehouse, Church or School. This program is for everyone regardless of financial status. Distribution dates are the 4th Saturday with exception of holidays.    For more information, please call Mrs. Deb Schommer at 252-3750.
 
St. Ben’s Meal Program
 
A meal is service Sunday through Friday at St. Benedict the Moor on 10th and State Street. St. Mary’s provides food the 3rd Wednesday of every month along with Good Shepherd and St. James Parishes. Menu assignments are rotated. Prepared food is brought to the Church and transported to St. Ben’s with 8-15 volunteers who assist in serving. Between 350 and 450 guests are served per night. For more information, please call Deacon Buck Buth. 
 
The Community Banquet
 
This meal program is for the people of the Menomonee Falls and Sussex area and is offered through the 10 local Church twice a month. For more information, please contact the Parish Office. 
 
Good Samaritans
 
A group of men, who on behalf of the parish, respond to emergencies within the parish boundaries, as well as provide assistance to travelers in distress and persons in need of transportation. Please contact the Parish Office.
